Shanghai, China – July 19, 2026 – A landmark moment for China's motorcycle manufacturing industry has been officially announced: Junchi Motorcycle Co., Ltd. based in Chongqing Jiangjin will field its fully independent JHL Factory Racing Team at the 2026 FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship of China, taking place September 11–13 at Shanghai Fengxian Bay Outdoor Sports Venue. This marks the very first time a domestic Chinese motorcycle brand has qualified as an official factory team to race in the premier MXGP class, going head-to-head with legendary global manufacturers including KTM, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati and Fantic.
MXGP is widely regarded as the highest level of global off-road motorcycle competition, grouped alongside MotoGP, WRC and Formula 1 as the four premier motorsport events worldwide. The 2026 MXGP of China is the only Asian round of the entire championship season, gathering 33 top teams from 22 countries, more than 90 professional riders and eight reigning world champions on the starting grid.
After passing full FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) qualification audits covering vehicle certification, team registration and driver licensing, Junchi completed its three-year preparation project launched back in 2022. Over 90% of components on Junchi's factory racing motorcycle are independently designed and manufactured in China, relying on Chongqing's complete and mature motorcycle industrial supply chain. The company follows a core development philosophy: verify technology on the race track, and feed race-tested data back into mass-production R&D.
Junchi's self-developed LX250R off-road motorcycle has already proven its reliability in domestic national motocross tournaments, achieving a 100% finish rate without any modifications during national championship races in 2025. Just recently, Junchi's team swept the top three positions in the MX Open category at the 2026 China National Motocross Championship, demonstrating outstanding performance of its powertrain, frame and suspension parts.
Tinggang Hu, General Manager of Chongqing Junchi Motorcycle, shared his original vision: "I attended the first MXGP China round in Shanghai in 2019, and I made a promise that our self-developed motorcycles would race on this global stage one day.
